Kristina Howard, the artist behind
Jack Dusty, L.I.
From custom apparel to horseshoe crab art, Jack Dusty, LI, is environmentally conscious. Each and every horseshoe crab used in my art is non-living and found washed up on the shores of Long Island. Usually already cleaned out by the seagulls, I clean, prime and prepare the crab in order to paint my next vision and bring these fossils back to life.
A portion of all sales will go to the New York Marine Rescue Center located in Riverhead, N.Y. We all have a strong connection with the sea living on Long Island and must take care of our waters and marine life.
Our custom apparel such as shirts and hats have been designed with inspiration from all creatures living within our ocean and bays. I work with many different types of mediums yet working with horseshoe crabs has been an amazing experience and I’ve learned so much about these beautiful creatures in the process.
